$\begingroup$ Diorite maybe? Its difficult to see the rock clearly as the picture’s a bit blurry when zoomed in. $\endgroup$ – The Garage Chemist Mar 24 '18 at 16:20
  • $\begingroup$ Even with the new photo there still isn't really enough information to give more than an educated guess. Please try and describe the rock using some of the pointers given in the guide. $\endgroup$ – bon Mar 24 '18 at 19:16

$\begingroup$ Because you want an answer. The better quality your question is, the larger the chance you'll get an answer. Take 2-3 pics from different angles, maybe different distances, and the chance of parts being out of focus, badly lighted, etc is much smaller. And then there is the issue of symmetry with crystals... $\endgroup$ – Jan Doggen Mar 25 '18 at 20:21

$\begingroup$ density, hardness, and acid reactivity will be helpful as well. especially if it was found in a cave system. $\endgroup$ – John Mar 26 '18 at 4:22
