I found this stone in a box where I keep some memorabilia. Unfortunately I don't know, where it's from, maybe it's from a mountain side in the alpins or from a beach at the mediterranean sea. One side of it looks washed up, so I guess mediterranean sea is a good guess.

It measures about 2.3 x 1 x 1 cm while weighing about 6.18 gramms and having the shape of a pear. The color is a mixture of beige and brown.

Because the grain of the stone is so varied and because it is so light, I tested with a lighter whether it is stone at all and not plastic or something else. Since no reaction occurred even after a few seconds of exposure, I assume that this is a type of rock.

Best guess based on texture more than anything else is Chert, we have a lot of honey coloured chert in my neck of the woods but I'm not sure if it's as common in the north hemisphere.
