How can foliation form in a predominantly dolomitic marble which includes pervasive chert in the form of beds and nodules. The marble appears extremely pure which would lead me to believe there is a lack of platy minerals available to produce this foliation. The marble in question has been folded into a broad, asymmetrical anticline prior to the intrusion of a granitic body which was later intruded along the fold axis.
