Have several of these animal figurines, MADE IN USSR on bottom. Can't figure out what type of rock it is made from. Any ideas?

$\begingroup$ It looks like the baptismal font of the church of my city. I think it should be called breccia and not conglomerate, but the cement at least looks silica. Jasper or other non crystalline SiO2 structure. $\endgroup$ – user12525 Jan 5 at 15:12

I believe it is probably a type of marble, with a fair bit of impurities. You can confirm this by putting a drop of acid on the bottom and seeing if it fizzes.
