I feel like it's clear quartz that had been ripped from a cluster. However, I haven't seen this before, so I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm or correct me?

Your specimen is quartz. Quartz crystals can show an amazing variety of crystal forms. The Quartz Page site shows some of the variety of crystal forms that can be found.

I have seen similar crystal forms associated with mesothermic lead sulfide deposits.
