I need to use gridded rainfall data (0.1 degree grids) and station discharge data for analysing rainfall-runoff relationships. How do I process the data in such a way that it is justifiable to compare across different catchments? In other words, how do I assign stations (for the discharge data) and grids (for the rainfall data) to different river basins? I have the river basin maps as a geodatabase file and lat-lon locations of both the stations as well as gridpoints as delimited text files.

  • $\begingroup$ No idea what tools you're using. On a low level of programming a Voronoi diagram (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voronoi_diagram) could solve the problem, where the edges are ridges between watersheds. $\endgroup$ – user20217 Jul 21 '20 at 17:33
