Geologist, caver, speleologist, mathematician. Avid outdoor enthusiast, mainly biking and backpacking. Beginning expedition caver exploring deep alpine caves.
Geology Ph.D. student at the University of Arkansas, with a focus on karst geomorphology. Currently working on modeling of speleogenesis (cave growth) after the onset of turbulent flow.
I started programming with an interest in robotics as a young teenager, then began focusing more on server and network administration, though continued programming by writing server/client software. For my undergraduate studies I majored in pure math and geology. As a geology major I had my first exposure to caving, and have been at it since 2008.
Due to the background as both a geologist and mathematician I wish to understand complex geological phenomenon using analytical and numerical techniques.
