I'm a Knowledge Broker with two great centres: the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes and the Monash Climate Change Communications Research Hub. Part of my role is building bridges between climate scientists and the users of climate research, who include policymakers, companies and professional science communicators. The other part is building production-grade systems for delivering climate data and visualisations.
Before I started as a Knowledge Broker, I completed a PhD in the health impacts of climate change. My research was concerned with how we identify dangerously hot days, the effects those days have on public health and how those days are going to change in the future given human activity. I'm interested in side projects that can affect social change, so I'm always happy to hear about new ideas!
