Oct 26, 2021 at 22:03 comment added Bruzote @Mazura - You're wrong about subduction. That is a form of geological transformation involving plate tectonics. Land forms can fall (subside) OR RISE (uplift) in association with subduction. Subsidence refers to a surface that's vertically moving downwards relative to a standard height (e.g., an adjacent land form or sea level). Subsidence can occur for multiple reasons, such as glacial rebound or removal of subsurface magma. We should all be careful if we claim to summarize the words of someone else. It's like putting words in their mouth and it's not fair if the summary is wrong.

Apr 8, 2018 at 21:13 comment added uhoh Okay I've made the edits, seems it took more than 5 minutes. Sorry for the change, when I realized I could record the podcast and play it back and stop and start easily, I felt I should improve the accuracy of the transcription.
Apr 8, 2018 at 20:53 comment added uhoh Thanks for your answer. I have replayed my downloaded copy of the podcast a few more times and I believe it is "trade winds" and not "trade routes". I am going to edit the question to reflect this and make another adjustment. I think the content of your answer will still match nicely but the bullet numbers will change. Sorry for the trouble, it will be about 5 minutes...
